📒The Purple Book Updated Edition ✍ Rice Broocks
📝The Purple Book Updated Edition Book Synopsis : In today's uncertain world, storms will arise that test your faith in a loving heavenly Father. At times, the winds and waves of the world's deceptions will roll in and seek to erode your confidence in God. Without a firm foundation in the truth of God's Word, you may be tempted to go off course and accept less than God's best for you. However, when you hear Jesus' words, receive them, and put them into practice, you will construct a life the torrents cannot shake, "because it was well built" (Luke 6:48). The Purple Book will help you understand foundational truths that God wants you to hear on topics such as sin, salvation, spiritual gifts, prayer, worship, generosity, and evangelism. It will show you how the Bible is "God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness" (2 Timothy 3:16). It will help you understand that the faith you hold has true power to change lives and transform nations. It will give you a solid foundation the enemy cannot dismantle—and a heart shaped by knowledge of God's Word.
📒Purple Potato ✍ Kevin Connelly
📝Purple Potato Book Synopsis : "A smaller oval-shaped potato with a purplish black outer skin and vivid purple, dense inner meat. The odd colored meat adds a distinctive look to any dish. When selecting, choose those that are firm and plump, avoiding those that have shriveled skins, sprouting eyes, soft spots, blemishes and green spots. Store potatoes in a cool dry place. They will keep at room temperature for up to two weeks and longer when stored in cool temperatures. Do not store in the refrigerator because the cold temperatures will convert the starches into sugar and the potato will become sweet and turn a dark color when cooked. Do not store with onions, the gas given off by onions accelerate the decay of potatoes." - From Hormel.com's Food Glossary, the #1 Source for dietary information in the US of A.

📒The Expositions On The Psalms Annotated Edition ✍ St. Augustine of Hippo
📝The Expositions On The Psalms Annotated Edition Book Synopsis : This is the extended and annotated edition including * an extensive biographical annotation about the author and his life In any commentary on a portion of the Old Testament by a writer unacquainted with Hebrew, exact criticism, and freedom from mistake, must not be expected. But the Psalms have been so in the mouth and in the heart of God’s people in all languages, that it has been necessary often to find an explanation suitable to imperfect translations. And no doubt it is intended that we should use such explanations for the purpose of edification, when we are unable to be more accurate, though in proving doctrine it is necessary always to remember and allow for any want of acquaintance with the original, or uncertainty with respect to its actual meaning. However, the main scope and bearing of the text is rarely affected by such points as vary in different translations, and the analogy of the faith is sufficient to prevent a Catholic 4 mind from adopting any error in consequence of a text seeming to bear a heterodox meaning. Perhaps the errors of translation in the existing versions may have led the Fathers to adopt rules of interpretation ranging too far from the simple and literal; but having such translations, they could hardly use them otherwise. Meanwhile St. Augustin will be found to excel in the intense apprehension of those great truths which pervade the whole of Sacred Writ, and in the vivid and powerful exposition of what bears upon them. It is hardly possible to read his practical and forcible applications of Holy Scripture, without feeling those truths by the faith of which we ought to live brought home to the heart in a wonderful manner. His was a mind that strove earnestly to solve the great problems of human life, and after exhausting the resources, and discovering the emptiness, of erroneous systems, found truth and rest at last in Catholic Christianity, in the religion of the Bible as expounded by St. Ambrose. And though we must look to his Confessions for the full view of all his cravings after real good, and their ultimate satisfaction, yet throughout his works we have the benefit of the earnestness with which he sought to feed on the “sincere milk of the word.”
📒Expositions Of The Psalms ✍ Saint Augustine (Bishop of Hippo.)
📝Expositions of the Psalms Book Synopsis : Fourth volume of the long-awaited translation of one of AugustineÂ’s classics and a great work in Christian literature. Newly translated by Maria Boulding, O.S.B., whose masterful translation of AugustineÂ’s Confessions in the same series has been praised as being “of a different level of excellence from practically anything else in the market” (Bishop Rowan Williams, Monmouth, England). As the psalms are a microcosm of the Old Testament, so the Expositions of the Psalms can be seen as a microcosm of Augustinian thought. They recapitulate and focus the experiences of AugustineÂ’s personal life, his theological reflections, and his pastoral concerns as Bishop of Hippo.

📒The Bible Burners ✍ Paul Peterson III
📝The Bible Burners Book Synopsis : Professor Rapture Browne looked out at the world and didn't like what he saw. So he decided to change it. He started the 'Creative Power of the Universe' organization. He planned to replace the God of the ancient religions with his own deity which he judged to be more creditable. He looked upon the Bible as nothing more than synagogue 'snake-oil' and fantasyland hogwash. He planned to close down the churches, burn the Bibles, and put the clergy out of work. He and his organization go through what amounts to a religious war with the local church people. Chaos erupts in the streets of Psalm City. There are shootings, and kidnappings, and arson, and riots in the streets and in the parks and at the school grounds. The 'Great Cleansing' follows.
